February

I'm sure I say this every month but February literally flew by and I feel like I achieved very little besides keeping up with work and general day to day things. Hence why I'm posting this mid March, I'm having an internal panic as I type this that we're already mid-way through March?! In February we enjoyed a lovely valentines day picnic, neither of us particularly celebrate valentines day but I had the evening off so it was lovely to just enjoy one another's company. I've been generally feeling overwhelmed with my workload and wedding planning, which I've found out towards the end of the month has been because I've been suffering from a kidney infection for the majority of February. I'm so lucky that I caught it before it spread as I've ended up in hospital for a week in the past as my organs had begun to fail, we're so lucky that we live somewhere with such great health care and I'm finally beginning to feel like myself again now which is awesome.

Wardrobe Staples: Birkenstocks

My style has evolved considerably since I've been living in Sydney, long gone are the days of wearing uncomfortable shoes in the name of fashion because for the past almost 3 years I have quite literally lived in Birkenstocks. I have them in both black and white and recently added this mocha pair to my collection. Once you've worn a pair of Birkenstocks you really just can't get away from how comfortable they are, both your feet and your back will thank you for it, I pretty much wear them daily and I'm on my feet for 12+ hours a day.

Wedding Planning Update: Feeling Overwhelmed.

I've been feeling relatively calm and organised with regards to wedding planning up until this evening. Since I booked our venue, celebrant and photographer pretty early on I was feeling pretty pleased with my progress, however now I realise how much thought and time really does go into the smaller details.

January.

January started off on such a high, with my visa being approved and Robbie being invited to interview to become a firefighter. Now last year I was pretty absent on this little corner of the internet so unless you know me personally you won't know how much we've been through with the visa application process, but after waiting a long 15 months I am so excited and relieved to say that I can stay in Australia.

Empties #2

As I mentioned in my previous post I am in serious spring-clean mode in every area of my life at the moment and there is nothing I enjoy more than coming to the end of a product. Even though I would consider myself pretty minimal as far as the beauty obsessed go, I still find myself with too many products mounted up every now and then and it feels good to clear a bit of space in the cupboard. I'm looking forward to clearing out the old and bringing in some new and exciting products to test out.

Life Lately.

The past couple of months have had their fair share of ups and downs for me, I feel as though I've genuinely been having a quarter life crisis. My anxiety has been rearing it's ugly head and it really has been plaguing me for the past 6 weeks or so. I've had serious toothache and had two wisdom teeth removed which was quite literally similar to a nightmare (only two more to go!). To top it all off I've been an emotional wreck which I can only put down to a combination of being homesick and hormonal, poor Robbie really has had his work cut out to say the least. Surprisingly it's not all been bad though, Robbie and I had a lovely long weekend in Brisbane and my best friend from the UK is currently in Sydney. We also went to see Ben Howard last weekend who was absolutely incredible, and we celebrated Robbie's 26th birthday, it's crazy, I can't believe I'm going to be 26 this year.

Alice

It's been just over a week since my lovely sister-in-law to be, Alice, shaved her head to raise money and awareness for Leukaemia as part of The Worlds Greatest Shave. She is so brave, and I knew she would look amazing with a shaved head, but it really does suit her and only emphasises her beautiful cheekbones and blue eyes. I think it's so important to be compassionate every day and be thankful for your family and health, but something like The Worlds Greatest Shave truly does raise awareness to the masses and I'm so proud that Alice took part and managed to raise $2000 for the charity.
