Things for me at the minute are a bit up and down and all over the place. I'm not working very much so I'm broke, looking for new jobs, but I haven't been very good at curbing my shopping addiction. These Vans I've been waiting for for a long time. I love a platform and I love Vans so these are just crazy for me! I'm also a little obsessed with the 90s if you haven't noticed and I can't stop wearing bindis! Gwen Stefani and grunge in general have been a huge inspiration in my wardrobe choices of late! We ended up doing a little shoot, check out my sister's boyfriends page, Matthew Willcocks for more rad photos!
Just a quick post today on how I maintain my hair, it's something I get messaged/emailed about quite often so here are the products I use. With the dyes, I just mix them with conditioner then apply with a highlighting brush and leave on for 10 minutes, so it conditions my hair as well as creating the pastel shades I love!
The shampoos just prevent my poor bleached locks from going brassy or yellow. I love the Lush shampoo, it makes my hair smell like parma violets, it's addictive!
Last week I reverted back to my goth self and wore this all black outfit, the leggings are very glittery but it hasn't showed up in the images and I was so excited when I found them in Primark! The leopard print platforms I call my Scary Spice shoes and they make me very happy. I suddenly feel very festive, I'm so excited for Christmas already!
My shoes are pretty dirty because I decided it would be wise to wear them watching fireworks in a field on a farm, I nearly fell over so many times it was an awful plan!
So yesterday I left the house for the first time in three days (not including running to the shops in my pyjamas). I went shopping in Westfields Stratford and managed to buy myself a few pick me up presents but no christmas presents. Typical.
I love this military oversized jacket I picked up in Topshop in August, it's getting a bit too cold for it really but I love it.
I've been wearing my make up pretty much the same every day besides when I'm in the tea shop, I've gotten tired of dying my hair so its mostly just blonde these days or very faded pink/purple.
This is kind of blouse with no buttons I found in a charity shop in Devon, it makes me feel like the bride of Beetlejuice! I love stripes and these colours are my favourites.
These are my favourite Vans, I don't wear them too much because I want to keep them fresh and I have too many shoes!
Fur Stole - Asos (old), Jacket - Topshop, Blouse - Charity Shop, White Tshirt - Next, Jeans - Topshop Leigh Jeans, Red Beanie - Urban Outfitters (old), Jewellery - Same as always, Vans.
So I've been ill now for the past three weeks, it's now escalated to a chest infection and I'm taking antibiotics so hopefully I'm on the mend. I have quite a few posts prepared ready to post now I am feeling slightly more alive and have time off work.
This is the Lana Del Rey pink angora jumper from H&M which my sister, the sweetiepie tracked down for me knowing my love for all things candyfloss! For a girl that rarely wears colour I have been trying my best to put some colour into my wardrobe (apart from my hair)
I've been opting for layering as it's been absolutely freezing! Lots of glittery socks and thick tights.
Getting my fortnightly manicures is something which I have becoming quite obsessed with, having pretty nails makes me feel put together and completes any outfits. The stacked rings are something I've been waiting excitedly for for a while now! They are made by a lovely friend of mine Tory and I'm so happy with them, I will dedicate a post to them soon!

I will post things other than instagram photos as soon as I can get someone to take photos of my outfits/ when I get my huge stack of film developed. I'm working 50 hour weeks at the moment so it's the easiest way for me to still post on here.
So, I want to share my new room with you. I haven't finished unpacking yet so I will upload photos as I unpack and organise. I love looking on interiors blogs and seeing bloggers rooms, so I thought it's only fair to return the favour.
So I got my first iPhone, I have been getting by with broken blackberrys for the past year so I figured it was about time. I have swiftly jumped on the instagram bandwagon, follow me @katiejanemabey
1. My first photo on instagram, my dungarees and poundland necklace, 2. Fresh photo of my new bumblebee tattoo, 3. Jasmine Pearls tea at Le Chandelier where I work, 4. I've had quite a lazy week which has consisted of me getting a few early nights, 5. I made my hair into a bow for work, 6. I revisited my youth with my sister when we went to see Mayday Parade at Electric Ballroom, 7. My new cat blouse from Asos with my trusty dungarees, 8. Pink hair and Lilac Lips for a lazy Sunday, 9. Barney, my cat's portrait on my thigh in a bubble bath.
I love dungarees at the moment, they are all I want to wear and they instantly put a smile on my face when I put them on. I am on the look out for a black pair to start a dungaree collection.
I am now an official pastel haired belle. I dye my hair once a week and change between pastel, pink or a mixture of both. If anyone is interested to know what dye I use or how I do it, although I am no expert, let me know and I will dedicate a post to it.
I finally got myself a pair of classic black suede creepers, I have had my eye on them for a while but for some reason never got around to buying them. I have been a bit naughty recently and have bought a lot of new clothes. I am getting very excited by the idea of expanding my autumn winter wardrobe.
Another update is my growing interest in tattoos and growing my collection, I have always loved tattoos but this is my fourth this year, it's a bumble bee which is a very personal thing to me. I got it at London Tattoo Convention, which was my first convention and it was awesome!
And final shallow life update is my reliance on acrylic nails, I get them done every 2 weeks and really enjoy having nice nails for once in my life as I am infamous for my nail biting .
Finishing my degree, working, applying to jobs and moving house has taken over my life.
But I'll be back next week with some exciting news!
In the meantime check out my ebay as I'm having to clear out my wardrobe for my new flat!
So, at the end of last month I photographed the Summer Lookbook for awesome online vintage brand Nordic Poetry. I was so impressed with their selection of one-off vintage pieces. I shot most of the images in Teignmouth, Devon in a surf-punk themed shoot. Katy-Leigh was my partner in crime as always, not only creating all the hair and make-up looks and helping me with styling but also modelling herself. The weather was not on our side as anyone in the UK will know, but I love the way the images turned out! Here are my favourite digital shots, with the 35mm film images to follow!
