I was on hand to document the shave and help her to ensure she kept all the hair together as she will be donating her hair to make a wig for someone who has unfortunately lost their hair because of their Leukaemia treatment. So not only was she raising awareness for such a great cause, and raising money to aid their research, but her hair will also really help somebody who's feeling low.
We put her hair into lots of little hair bands, it was a pretty strong 90's look, this was to ensure we didn't lose any strands of hair. Then after a deep breath, Louise went in with the first snip, it was pretty scary even to watch. After that first cut though we just snipped away!
Everyone in the family got involved, even our niece and nephew Violet and Otis.
It was nearly all gone, and it was time for the last snip, which Alice did herself. I think it must have felt liberating to have cut all your hair off and Alice must have felt so proud of herself for going through with it. She's definitely going to have to start a hat collection now winter is setting in here in Australia, it's getting really cold.
It was so nice that this was such a family occasion, especially as one of the reasons Alice felt moved to be involved in The Worlds Greatest Shave was because their uncle Roderick sadly lost his battle to Leukaemia at just 3 years of age. After having snipped off all of her hair, Robbie had to finish off the look by shaving it all to the same length.
