Since moving to Australia and only bringing 3 pairs of shoes with me, I have expanded my somewhat pathetic shoe collection quite extensively. Birkenstocks were one of the first new pairs of shoes I purchased over 6 months ago now, first in white then more recently in black and I wear them so much. They really are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned and I love the way they look too.
Now Birkenstocks have really hit it off in the fashion stakes recently, and for once I would say Australia was actually ahead of the UK when it came to this trend, probably because the weather's a bit more suited to Birkenstock wearing over here. There is a bit of a stigma around them and they are very love/hate, I only really like this two buckle style and love the simplicity in the black and white pairs.
They look great paired with pretty much everything that I wear on a day to day basis, they even look great dressed up. I will style them in some future outfit posts so you can see how I wear them but I would love to know what you think of the Birkenstock trend and how you wear them?
Thought I'd take a snap of my feet in my Birkies, I have really small chubby feet but I still really like the way they look and I'm really not a sandals kind of girl, which is something I've definitely had to adjust to since living in Sydney. Anyway enough of a ramble about my devotion to Birkenstocks, hope everyones having a nice week!

It's going to be a struggle not to wear them if they go out of fashion! They're just so comfortable! x
Deleteha i can see you have worn a lot :) I like them too, but I wish i could buy colourful ones
ReplyDeleteI think it's only a matter of time before they do some fun collaborations. I'd be in the market for some liberty print ones or metallics!
