Inspiration and Ideas

I'm always inspired by things I see online, whether it's recipes, interiors, beauty, pretty much anything, who isn't? I'm going to do these round-up's regularly as a way of collating all of the things that have been inspiring me recently and hopefully to inspire you too.

Empties #1

It's a new year and throughout January I have attempted and failed a shopping ban, but I have been making a conscious effort to use up some of my beauty products in a bid to narrow down my collection and focus on the products I truly love. I love reading empties post's and it's a good way to clarify what you like, what you don't and what you will repurchase. Besides, there's not many things more satisfying than getting to the end of the product and clearing more space in your collection. One of these products is a regular repurchase for me but all of the rest are the first time I've tried the products.

Home-Made Granola (Gluten-Free, Vegan, No Refined Sugar)

I've been desperate to make my own granola for months now, but I was struggling to find the time, it took a rainy afternoon and a burst of energy and I have produced my first batch. It honestly took a lot less time than I had anticipated and is really delicious. The great thing about making granola from scratch is that you know every single ingredient in the finished product and you can tailor it to your personal taste, also it's way more affordable then buying the ready made kind from the supermarket.

January Favourites

January has gone by so quickly and I feel like I haven't been half as productive as I should have been, in February I really must stop procrastinating. It's been a pretty unexciting month as far as beauty products are concerned as I really have been sticking to the same make-up and beauty routine, which I will share with you soon, but these are the products that have been my essentials. I'm trying to use up a lot of the products I've had for a while before I buy new ones, being quite strict with myself, as it's really not that important to me to buy new products all the time.

Micellar Water Love

My love for Micellar water goes way back to when I picked up my first bottle of Bioderma in Italy about 5 years ago, it was an easy way to remove all my make up without resorting to face wipes. Nowadays there are so many Micellar waters on the market and Bioderma is much more widely stocked world-wide. Gone are the days of me stocking up on any trip to Europe and roping in my friends mum to bring bottles over from Italy whenever she paid a visit to London.

Chocolate Orange and Polenta Cake (Gluten-Free)

I can't quite believe that January is almost coming to an end! I have had the busiest month ever, the first half filled with the most fun adventures and quality time spent with Robbie, but the last 2 weeks filled with work, a horrible cold and mosquito bites. In more positive news I did make time to bake my favourite cake of the moment (or the last six months to be precise), the Chocolate Orange and Polenta cake. This cake is wheat free and completely gluten-free (polenta is naturally gluten-free) and only contains a few ingredients, but it is so moist and incredibly more-ish, this is one which everyone loves!

Nars Sheer Glow

This is a product which is impossible not to have heard about if you're interested in make-up and beauty. It is raved about on both blogs and youtube and is a product I've been wanting to try for years now. I bought my bottle of Nars Sheer Glow from Mecca Cosmetica and it's in the shade Fiji, which is a good colour match for my skin tone. I've had the foundation for 3 months now and I'm still sitting on the fence about whether I would repurchase this product or not.
